I find extremely appropriate the comparison often made between physical and emotional injuries. In both situations there's a wound, this wound causes pain and leaves a scar.
I always wondered about the purpose of scars. I never understood why the body decides to leaves traces of some wounds and not of others. Whatever the reason might be, one thing is certain: it is very difficult for us to have a scar for which we don't know the cause, no, but we remember every detail, what happened, when, how, who was envolved and why.
Scars are like reminders so that we won't harm ourselves again in the same way. Who has never got wounded while cycling? Cycling is like living. You must have strengh, balance, persistence and not doubt.
To finish, I want to leave this thought: the one who pedals risks to fall, but the one who only walks doesn't enjoy himself as much.
